Since apparently he died in the recent movies. I didn't watch them, and it has been some great time since I've read the books. Could anybody help me fill a thread with Dobby-love and an explanation as to why/if he died?

He was killed by Belatrix. She threw a knife at him when he, Harry, Ron, Hermione were trying to escape from the Malfoy Mansion.

She couldn't do it with a wand because Ron took it from her and she is too cruel to give up, so she use her last chance before they disappeared. I just read the chapter to refresh my memory.
